June Updates

June 13, 2018

It's a busy month so far and I hope everyone is happy and healthy.

Let's just jump right into what I've been up to, because it's mostly geared toward helping you or whomever can benefit by whatever inspired means I come across. So hopefully, something here can better your life in some way, even if it's just a teeny tiny bit. XOXO

First, let's address how hectic it's been here. And if I'm feeling this way, I know others have got to be feeling this way too. So inspiration hit and I've been using a new method to help me get to sleep and meditate more effectively. If you find you're having a hectic time too, here is a technique I use to calm thoughts, called the Golden Envelope Technique. I hope you find it helpful:

Newest hobby: MENTALISM

Recently, I've been hit with the desire to learn to use focus and energy in some new experiments. So I've been bending some metal and cultivating new skills that I hope to be able to teach to those interested. I'm writing about this because it's important to me that I encourage others to put faith and focus into your dreams. And just remember that dreams don't always have to be

monetarily lucrative or even make sense,

as long as it makes you happy.

GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

PSA Pep Talk (originally posted HERE):

Yesterday's regression group touched on a specific and important matter that I feel anyone can identify with. It is the matter of stepping outside of your comfort zone and facing certain fears.
Sometimes it's a matter of settling into the comfortable routine, usually it's motherhood, or the 9-5 "grind", to fool ourselves into a cocoon of what we've determined Happiness feels like. Not allowing wings to fully spread and extend unequivocally.
There's excuses we've accepted that hold us politely in place: money issues, stability, kids, spouses, Expectations with a capital E.
More and more, I come across people hitting their late 30's, 40's, 50's +, who, as they grow older and wiser and more comfortable and in love with those things that make them different or for lack of better term, 'flawed', look back and wish they had the "fuck 'em" attitude earlier and pursued their dreams, kicked their fears to the curb, and learned how to not just tentatively reach past their comfort zones, but dance far beyond them.
It's bittersweet, because I celebrate with many who have finally begun their journeys and feel truly alive for the first time, but also empathize in their mourning of what they feel was 'lost' or empty time spent caring about things that only held them back in some way.
I'm writing this in the hopes that it triggers anyone who may need to, this instant, today, tomorrow, sometime SOON, step out of your comfort zone, even just a little bit, even just a toe (as long as the foot follows). I promise you will be rewarded, if not immediately, then certainly you will see the reward in hindsight one day, looking back and seeing what amazing things happened because of that moment you chose to say "fuck 'em" and did something brave.
I can speak from experience. At one time in my life, my biggest fear was speaking publicly in any situation that placed me as the focal point. Put it this way, in highschool, we had to give a speech after reading The Scarlet Letter and had to choose our letter and wear it like a necklace - I chose 'P' for Public speaking...which got some laughs, but I wanted to P=Puke. This obnoxious fear lasted through law school, when I decided I needed to move past it if I planned on pursuing a legal career at all. So I bit the bullet and signed up for acting classes, which meant each week I would be expected to do the exact thing that terrified me the most. But I kept showing up. Each week. And the fear began to subside as the class mates celebrated me (and everyone) for whatever we expressed while "on the stage". It was utterly liberating! What was the reward? Besides getting over my fear (which was reward enough). Because I decided to do what I did, I also met the love of my life at those classes, as well as a soul sister best friend I would never had had in my life today had I not chosen to step out of my comfort zone and take a risk in order to better myself. And now I host workshops and groups on things I love to do and talk about, and life is so much sweeter than I ever thought possible. Basically, I gave myself permission to celebrate me, for the first time. EVERYONE should do this. It is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
If I can do it, you can do it.
This is why I do the work I do...it is an absolute joy to encourage the human experience in another person who is open to change, and all the amazing possibilities, opportunities, and futures waiting for them once they decide to align with their fearless, truest self.
Sending my deepest love to you all and hoping to you make the most out this beautiful weekend, and beautiful life.
XOXO
